I hope you're adjusting to your Hungarian life well!

I am writing you about the chapter event of AFS Budapest. I have sent this e-mail to your host families as well, so that you can all make plans together, while keeping AFS events in mind.

In Budapest, we will have two types of Chapter Events: Chapter Assemblies and Chapter Adventures. 

Chapter Assemblies are mandatory for all exchange students. These are monthly get-togethers where you can meet the others and the volunteers of the chapter. Host families are also invited to these events. During Chapter Assemblies, you will be able to get your money back for your monthly transportation passes and you will also have your monthly meetup with your őrangyal (guardian angel). These Assemblies will almost always take place on Saturdays, usually from 10AM. If you want to host a short event during Assemblies, don't hesitate to contact me! You can show us your culture through food, dances or games.

Chapter Adventures are optional events that you can attend. We will show you new places and activities in Budapest, which you can try with your peers and volunteers of the chapter. Again, host families are welcome to these events. Since these are not mandatory events, you will be asked to cover your expenses if you attend - which we will try to keep around 3-4000 HUF. Chapter Adventures will usually take place after the mandatory Chapter Assemblies ended, on Saturday afternoons.

I will send you reminder e-mails before every event, but the chapter management wanted everyone to know the important AFS dates, so that you can organise your Hungarian life according to these.

Also, as weather allows, we want to organise these events outdoors, so please always make sure to arrive after you applied sunscreen and always bring enough water with you!
